My Uni Experience

I honest to god thought I was getting on top of my blog. August I was on a roll with my posts, and I really thought I was making something of it and finally fitting blogging into my life.
But then the stress of uni hit, and my god it hit hard. I spent the two weeks before uni dreading it and not wanting to go at all. Then I got here and the second day I spent in bed hungover crying because I missed home that much.
But now, 6 weeks in I am so glad I moved away. It sucks being 3 and a half hours from home at times, I've been home once - not because I wanted to but because my dear nana was taken into hospital. But I wouldn't change my choice for the world. I know that staying at home is for some people, but it 100% is not for me. I love the independence of living on my own, and I have some of the best flatmates. I've made friends on my course and I'm proud that I moved here knowing absolutely no one and I now have a handful of genuinely good friends.
The reason why I chose to come here was for my course; Magazine Journalism. If anyone wants to go into the journalism world, then Sunderland is one of the best places for that, as you get NCTJ exams included in your course fees which are one of the main things employers look for  in graduates. It's also one of the only unis to specialise in magazines, and although so far I've mainly wrote new stories, I'm doing modules based on magazines and even a fashion journalism module which I'm far too excited to start in January.
But, obviously, it's not all work. After spending the first two weeks of freshers drunk - some pictures of this will not be put on here ha! Its quietened down, well as quiet as 50p drinks can get (I love you for that one Sunderland)
Here is me and my flatmate at a UV paint party.... Messy!!

Out with the girls for Sunderland Gay Night

The view from the newsroom in the media centre on my cute university campus
Writing my article on the train journey home to Manchester one weekend.. I always write in pink.

32 inch pizza, it was almost the size of our flats table. I almost chundered after even sharing it with 6 people

Who says students can't cook?! My Sunday roast I made in the flat

So that's just a little update from the last few weeks, and I will try to get some posts up soon, it's hard to find time to even do my uni work living here!!

Hope you're all well, and has anyone else just started uni?

Presents & Latest buys..

Okay so as promised, I thought I would show you the things my mum and dad brought me home from Tenerife. I also could not resist showing you my latest buys!! So after they lied to me and told me they had found nothing I would like in Zara (I knew that could not possibly be true!!) I was lay in bed after having opened my other presents - which I will get to later, and then in appears my mum with a HUGE Zara bag, and inside was my beautiful new shopper. It's from the Trafaluc collection, and I absolutely adore it and it will be perfect for my long 4 hour journeys home from Uni when I want to come home to visit my fam! (Arrrr still can't believe I'm moving!)
They also bought me these two fabulous tops - which are so casual and will be perfect for when I'm only going into uni for an hour or so, one has an owl printed onto the front, which is an oversized vest style. The owl has what I describe as an aztec print going on; if that is even possible for an owl?! Hahaha somethings make much more sense in my head! I then also got the black studded top which is quite thick - so will be ideal in Autumn! Is it just me that cannot wait to get all the wintery clothes back? I love summer but I can't wait to layer and stick on my uggs! The tops are both from Springfields which is a shop I absolutely adore in Tenerife!!

Okay, so Tenerife aside. It's making me quite sad that I didn't get to go hahaa! I then took a trip to H&M, and I found this bowler hat! Now, I know for sure they sold the bowler hats in H&M about a year or so ago, and then I never seemed to be able to find one, so as soon as I walked into my tiny local H&M and spotted this I had to have it!! At £7.99 I didn't even care that I'm not exactly a "hat person", I just fell in love. And it actually doesn't look that bad on!! BONUS. I also picked up these H&M leggings! Now, whenever I need new leggings these are the only ones I will literally buy, and often they only have the £5.99 ones in which I refuse to purchase! H&M £7.99 Leggings are the best leggings in the world!!! They're just so thick! I love it, like I can wear them with a top and not feel like an inappropriate amount of bum is on show! Fab.

What are your recent buys, and do you have anything you could not live without?

What a week...

Okay, so this week has been quite a big week for me!! So I thought I would share with you some photgraphs from the past few days!! For starters, I got into Sunderland University!!!!!!!! I was actually really happy, and so surprised!! After the state I was in taking my exams, I am glad to say all my work and stressing has finally payed off and I am finally studying something which I want to do!! Magazine Journalism!! EEEEEEK SCARY HUH?
So the first image is my confirmation, which was beyond scary logging into UCAS to see whether I had been accepted before I had even collected my results!!! I then found my freshers line up!! Which is quite good considering that Sunderland is not a hugggge city!! I am quite excited to watch LoveableRogues to be fair!
I then went out to celebrate, which explains the embarassing selfie and the drunk taxi pictures, believe it or not that was the way there, and I already look wasted, I'm never usually that bad but I honest to god remember none of the night but apparently I was lay on the floor of the dancefloor kissing my friends cousin, stay classy Alice stay classy.
I then got a new pandora charm, a cute little camera! Which I think represents the next step in my life as a journalist! I got so spoilt by my family for my results,

We all live in a yellow submarine

 me and my bezzie Paige
 my wonderful papa
Beaded Blouse | Internationale   Tailored Shorts | Old    Sandals | New Look   Earrings | Dorothy Perkins

Wow, I am doing well with keeping up with these blog posts!
I thought I would share with you a few photos I took a few weeks ago when I went to Liverpool with my Dad and my best friend Paige. As the weather was amazing (seems to have gone now, huff!!) we thought what better than to spend a day in Liverpool. Now let me be honest in saying that I am a Manchester gal, and I really love everything about our city. But can I say, Liverpool might come a close second (behind Newcastle maybe, woo excited to be moving North East in September - even though I am moving to Sunderland, Newcastle is like 20 minutes away on the metro, wooo shopping!) the city is just so clean and nice, way cleaner than Manchester! I was quite disapointed I didn't hear many scouse accents whilst I was there, however I did such cool things!
We did some typical touristy things, such as go on an open top tour bus, I did top up my tan as we went around the whole of Liverpool and it was such a hot day! We went to the Cavern Club, the home of the beatles, and had our photo took with the Cavern Club Liverpool wall. We also saw the Titanic building, which was amazing, probably because it is my all time favourite film ever, but it was so interesting to be told that all the relatives of people on the ship went there for news of their loved ones when they heard that the ship had sank! As we went around Albert Docks, we found a shop which was selling things which were actually on the titanic!! A silver spoon off the Captains table, which was about £80.00, but it had a certificate of authenticity and everything, I really wanted it!!
Albert Docks were so pretty in the sunshine, and some of the themed boats were fab, they had a Yellow Submarine (they really do love being the beatles birthplace) and a Titanic one!!! (I am actually obsessed)
We finished off the day with a spot of Shopping and a ever so classy beer and a burger at Wetherspoons, I purchased a new top and some sunglasses (as I sat on mine ha).
As it was sunny, I wore my new top which was an absolute bargain from Internationale (in the sale for £4 AND on Buy One Get One Half Price) What more can you ask for??? The top is fab, the back is a chiffon with buttons down, and the front is like a strung sequin and beaded material. Which I teamed with some beige tailored shorts that I have had for ages and don't even remember where they're from, and white sandals.

As my mam, dad and little sis have been away to Tenerife for almost 4 weeks now, they get back on Wednesday (I know I know, I am very jealous) I would have gone if it wasn't for Driving Lessons must pass before uni. must pass before uni. must pass before uni. But anyway, they skyped to tell me they have popped into my favourite boutique over there and have picked me up a surprise. So you may see a blog post on that, if I like it!! I did ask them to get me something from Zara, as the Tenerife Zara has the most amazing bargains, but they said they couldn't find me anything pft!! Impossible to not find me anything in a Zara. But hey, I can live with a boutique item!

Hope you like my post, what have you been up to this summer?

Summer Fragrance | 212 VIP Carolina Herrera

212 VIP Women | Debenhams

I was well and truly spoilt by my Auntie on a recent trip to the Trafford Centre for a lunch date, where I got this perfume Carolina Herrera 212 VIP. To be honest, I have wanted this since the TV advert came out a while back, remember the one "you're not on the guestlist..." yeah, you get the picture. Anyway, I love having new fragrances for summer, I seem to usually get lots around this time as I have a summer birthday, but this is probably one of my favourites this year!

The scent is quite youthful, it's very fruity and I think vanilla based. It seems to remind me of the aftershave Paco Rabanne One Million, but maybe thats because it's in a gold bottle haha! It does have a few similarities in scent though, however I would say 212 VIP is much sweeter, which makes it the perfect summer scent. I actually love this perfume so much, I can't recommend it highly enough. And, amazingly, the lid is magnetic, which is perfect for me, as I tend to shove perfumes in my bag and lose the lid! However, as this is 80ml, I doubt I'll be carrying it around in my small bags when I'm on a night out!

If you're looking for a fresh new perfume, I would say get your arse to selfridges or debenhams and pick this up, for 80ml the perfume is priced at £64.00, but 30ml is quite cheap, at £33.50.

What's your favourite summer fragrance? Have you tried this before?

Wishlist | August

1. Wedged Peep Toe Shoes | Zara
2. Sleeveless Silk Blouse | H&M
3. Classic Leather 11'' Satchel | Cambridge Satchel Company
4. Black & White Striped Leggings | American Apparel @ Selfridges
5. Ibiza Crop Top | Missguided
6. Frilly Ankle Socks | Topshop
7. Sequined Converse | Office

This post seems to have been based on a black and white theme, which started out as a coincidence. I think you can tell I am still a bit obsessed with Ibiza, and I spotted this crop on the missguided TV advert, and I feel as though I need it in my life!! I just wish I could have bought it before I went to Ibiza; I would have loved to walk around San An in this!! I have mixed some classic looks which seem to be coming in this season, with quite dressed down looks, I love the H&M silk blouse, it just looks so elegant. The converse are in he sale in Office, however the sad part is they only have large sizes left *sadface* but these would be perfect for me when I'm going to the less dressy clubs in town, as I could pair them with a skirt and blouse and they still look nice because they're so sparkly! Hahaha! The Zara shoes are also in the sale, BARGAIN! I am currently mourning the closure of the Zara in Manchester, which reopens in September (but by then I will have moved to Sunderland - eeeeek) it's such a killer especially with the Zara summer sale!
And yes, I know Cambridge Satchels have been on everyones wishlist for like ever now, but I still haven't got my hands on one, despite having asked for one for the past 2 birthdays and christmas's after first seeing Zooey Deschanel sporting an embossed classic I fell in love. So much that I have refused to buy a dupe even though most of them are amazing quality. I am still ever so obsessed with them, yet I always have other things my money needs to be spent on, so for now I shall dream of an 11'' embossed with my initials.
Ever since the hype of American Apparel Disco Pants, which took the blogging world by storm, I have wanted a pair of leggings from American Apparel to see whether they are the same good quality as the disco pants, and I am actually surprised at how cheap these are, seeing as everything in American Apparel is beyond expensive!
Whats on your August wishlist?

Summer lace

Dress | Chelsea Girl at River Island   Nude Heels | New Look   Lace Footsies | Primark.

So as promised I have made another blog post! Hopefully getting back on track.
Firstly can I apologize for the picture quality, I will try to take a better picture when I get round to it, this was just a quick snap before I went out, (I had already had far too many cocktails) so the lighting and background is definitely not the best. But I wanted to post about this dress as I love it so much haha!
So it seems England finally has a summer! And I am usually the girl that's wearing the maxi dresses the second a slight bit of blue sky appears! But one thing I love about summer, is little summery dresses! So I thought I would share this one with you, that I bagged in the River Island Summer sale! It's a white lace, with slight gold detailing, and a bargain at £15, down from £30. Even if I did have to sew a new button on at the back, which I think is why it was reduced so much!
I wore this to go to a friends 18th, and I teamed it with nude t-bar heels and white lace footsies. Can I just say how much I adore Primark lace footsies, they make all heels so much more comfy as they have cushion pads in the bottom. AMAZING!
What do you think? Have you bagged any summer bargains?

Catching up, Ibiza blues

Oh my God!! I have totally neglected my blog recently (even though I am only just really getting started) But, I cannot believe it has been over 2 months since my last post! However, finally exams are out of the way, I have just got back from Ibiza (BEST HOLIDAY EVER) and have finally finished college for good. So hopefully some more blog posts will appear over summer, before I finally leave to study Magazine Journalism at Sunderland University (gulp!).
Anyway, I thought I would share with you some of my Ibiza photos.
Seriously I cannot even describe what it is about Ibiza but it just has this amazing vibe! Crazy.
Cheeky snap from a Booze Cruise, wearing an Aztec print playsuit from New Look.
Perrrrrrfect for minimizing tanlines!  Defo think that red bikini is cheekily photobombing
First night out, hitting San Antonio. Went with a Little Black Dress, teamed with jelly sandals.
My sandals are actually Primark, and literally so cute! Black with little bumble bees on, and I have raved about them for so long. They were actually in the sale for £3 so I got a pink pair with flamingos on and a white studded pair. However, since I have got home my sandals have in fact snapped. So my raving about them has now ended, despite the other pairs going strong! But the good thing is the Bumble bees are like charms that you can screw off, so I can swap and change and put the bumble bees onto my other sandals.
All glittered up and ready to party at Zoo project.
I don't think you get more embarrassing than my drunk dancing. Wearing my fave lace crop (even if it is from the kids section of Internatcionale - curse my small boobs!) AND it's basically identical to the Topshop lace crops!

Last night out. with a friend we met in our hotel. I look so small because Paige had her wedges on, and I had just taken off my Kurt Geigers. I wasn't unclassy and wearing no shoes, I literally swapped them for a flat pair of Miss Kurt Geiger sandals with a girl I had met who was staying in our hotel. I got them back though, thank god haahaha!

Finally, the world famous San Antonio sunset taken from Hedkandi Sunset Cruise. How Beautiful!

So, I hope this is the start of a more frequent set of blog posts, I will try my best! Hope you loved my Ibiza photos. I had THE best holiday ever, and I couldn't not blog about it. You have to go!!
Have you been to Ibiza, or going on holiday anywhere else this year? & what are your ultimate holiday essentials?

Lace shirt & Pinnafore

Pinnafore | G21 at Asda   Lace Shirt | G21 at Asda   Glasses | Rayban.

Okay so I thought I would share with you my latest bargain as I think you will be impressed, as a lot of people were when they saw me in this outfit, especially when they found out where it was from & the price. (that sounded much more bigheaded than it should have done - what I mean is that people liked my clothes ha ha!)
So I for one have loved the recent trend of pinnafores and dunagrees which has been pretty much everywhere. I did want some shorts dungarees but I'm not 100% with my thighs so I feel more comfortable in skirts haha! I was after a pinnafore and I had my eye on one in River Island but I never got around to actually buying one as I seem to spend all my money at the pub recently! (shocking I know) But I was in asda with my mum last week and I thought oooh why dont I have a look at the bargains. And I was actually shocked at how nice some of the things were! I think they must have a new clothing line out - as the brand of the items I picked up was called G21 and I'm sure I haven't bought anything labelled that in the past but I could be wrong. I was just routing through the sale rack, which is extremely common for me I will say I am an avid sale rack searcher. And despite for the most part having to avoid blouses which would only be suited for my grandma, I came across this fabulous pinnafore.
It's black which is the colour I tend to wear most anyway - but my fave thing about it has to be the buttons on the back. They are big white buttons which really contrast the black; and obviously black and white has been literally everywhere with the monochrome trend. The straps can be made longer or shorter, but as I am a bit of a shortarse anyway, I have it in the shortest button hole and it is still slightly long haha! I then decided I needed a white blouse to go underneath, I was looking for something chiffon but then I came across this lace collared shirt which I loved. It wasn't in the sale but it was cheap enough. I have also just booked a holiday to Ibiza so this will be good to shove on with my new denim shorts which I am sure will make an appearance in a post sooner or later (hopefully when my thighs are slightly more toned) I am more than excited for Ibiza though and you should all start suggesting outfit ideas for Zoo Project for me - as you have to dress as an animal and party in an Abandoned Zoo. So cool!
But anyway, I always seem to go off topic haha! I thought the two items worked well, and I wore this just for a trip to Nandos for my friend Jacks birthday, teamed with River Island studded cowboy boots. The pinnafore was reduced to £9 from £16, and the shirt was £10 so I think my bargain hunting is fab.
What do you think for this outfit?

Leibster Blog Award

Liebster Blog Award!

I shall start by first of all saying how shocked I was to be nominated for this award, considering I am such a brand new blogger, and it felt fab to know that someone was actually reading my blog and paying attention to what I was writing, even though I have got hardly any followers - the good thing about this is the fact that you can get a bit of recognition for you blog. BLOG POWER. (Was that a bit too spice girls-y? Ah well!)
It's like the Oscars, I would like to thank my mum for always believing in me, my dad for helping me through tough times, my sisters for.... No I am kidding.
Ok.. So I am new to this so if I do it wrong I do apologise...

Nominate 11 new bloggers with less than 200 followers.4. Ask 11 questions to the bloggers you nominated.5. Inform the bloggers you chose.

So I guess I shall start with step one, here are 11 facts about me:

ONE: I have a phobia of bananas, they actually scare me quite a bit. Especially peeled bananas. They are just weird.

SEVEN: I have such a common accent I sometimes get ashamed when I talk haha!
EIGHT: I cannot resist chocolate, but my ultimate weakness would be Morrisons chocolate brownies. You now know how to keep me happy.
NINE: I want nothing more in life than a Cambridge Satchel, but everytime I have the money to buy one I end up buying something else instead. I just want my beautiful engravings on it.
TEN: I wear glasses all the time because I have the worst eyesight. Well I occasionally wear contact lenses but not often. I quite like my glasses though.
ELEVEN: I have a necklace which I NEVER take off, it has my locket from when I was a baby, and my mum's St Christopher on. It's the best thing I own.

Stone Print Leggings

Guys, I apologise I have been rather absent recently! I am slacking from blogging already, but I promise to try and keep up, I think I have finally sorted my Media coursework out, gosh A Levels are so time consuming!!
I thought I would share these with you, I tend to just shove them on whenever as they are just so easy to throw on with an oversized T-Shirt and converse, okay lets face it, I shove them on when I am hungover or having a lounge day (or when I cannot face getting really dressed up for college when I am only in for an hour and a half - how annoying!) But lets face it, they are quite cool looking. I bought these in La Gomera, (I actually sound like I only buy clothes abroad or something hahaha! I don't!) but I managed to find the only clothes shop in the whole of San Sebastian; which is the capital so I am guessing that was the only clothes shop on the island - how they cope I will never know! Well there was clothes shops but the clothes resembled a table cloth, so this was the only fashionable shop we shall say. They were amazingly cheap, I think they were actually Nine Euros, which is less in English money but I am not the best at maths and conversion rates haha! I love a good bargain, as you will most likely tell from my posts when I actually get going with this blogging lark.
The print is rather strange, which I think is why I loved them when I bought them. The only issue is the fact that I am mega short, and so I get what I describe as the "ankle sag", but hey I still love them so I cannot complain.
I'd love to know if anyone has any similar leggings, and where they got them from.

Wishlist | April

Here are some of the things I am dying to get my hands on..
My faves have to be the Zara sandals, I must have a pair in my life, they are so beautiful. I am loving the oriental and ethnic styles which seem to be everywhere. I'm a bit over excited for summer, and I can't wait to get a Jersey Maxi Dress to shove on with a pair of converse for college!
& how much of a bargain is that H&M Blouse??? Must be purchased!

My Kurt Geiger Wedges!!

Even though I am meant to be saving, I can never resist something when I fall in love, & trust me, it was definitely love at first sight with my Kurt Geigers!! Now I never really spend excessive amounts on my clothes and shoes, as I find that there are cheap alternatives to most things which are almost as good. However, when I saw these I knew that there would not be many dupes that would have the same laser cut detail. And for the price, they were really a bargain. This is why: TKMaxx have started selling Kurt Geigers. Yes, you heard right. I've never been a massive lover of TKMaxx as it involves a lot of rummaging to find one item that you want, however if you have the patience you can find some good bargains and it really is worth it. As soon as I spotted them I knew they were of a high quality, and then I realised they were Kurt Geigers, at a RRP of £160, reduced to £40. It was impossible to leave them at that. When I got home I looked at them online and ASOS had also reduced them to £49, however they were sold out, so I am more than happy with my find!! They will be the best summer wedges ever because they're just so pretty. I have only worn them once (as I have only had them a week) and I did fall over in them, but we shall blame the vodka, malibu, sambuka and disaronno for that!! They are actually really easy to walk in, and I managed to keep them on all night. I am sounding like such a classy bird. They were really comfy, but I did get blisters the next day, but who cares as long as they are comfy on the night and look good!! Plus, I think dancing for 5 hours would result in blisters if I was wearing fluffy slippers. They are extremmmmely high, as the heel height is 6 inches, but they have got a chunky platform on!! They're my fave shoes!

What do you think? Have you got any KG's you're lusting after.

My main love in life, my Zara leather jacket

So I thought it was only right that the first item of clothing I should blog about would be my fave. I am a slight Zara addict, simply because when I go in the shop I dribble about the quality of the clothing, and the shop always looks so pretty. I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to shopping here to be honest, I fall in love with things to the extent I want to cry. (My friend Lauren can vouch for this if she remembers the coat situation) However, some of the things aren't always in my price range, especially seeing as my contract at work had to come to an end, so I am now on the job hunt. But this doesn't stop me from loving one of my best purchases ever. I know everyone seems to have bought leather jackets, and studs seem to have been slightly over done recently, but my jacket still looks amazingly fab because of the fact that it is a good quality and is definitely not cheap looking. I bought the jacket in Summer last year whilst abroad in the Canary Islands, from the Zara there - as obviously it is a Spanish company anyway. I had quite a bit of money to spend in Zara there as I bagged myself a job as a waitress for six weeks. And may I just add that I picked up a few bargains in there aswell! Technically that's not even spending money right? Cos I would have spent my euros on tatty souvenirs if not on this jacket, well that is my logic anyway! I have since seen Lucy from Made In Chelsea sporting this jacket, so I know it was a good buy.
I think the stud ratio is just right. I'm very picky on my ratio's (especially gum-to-tooth ratio but lets not talk about that). The sleeves are slightly cropped and they also have little gold spikes which I think are very cute. The only negative thing I could say about my baby would be the fact that it is hardly ever weather appropriate for Manchester. This winter I have had to live in my parka!! However I did decide to invest in some cute little three quarter sleeved cardigans to shove underneath when I just couldn't resist wearing the jacket. Hopefully now the weather is slightly better I will get more wear out of it. But then again, the weather in this country is slightly crazy. We had snow last week. Snow... Near April.... Crazy!!
What do you think? I hope you all love it as much as me...
P.s. I apologise for the quality of the images, life with a Blackberry can be such a pain and my digital camera seems to have gone walkabouts (knowing me I have left it at a party whilst drunk) I shall upload a photo of me wearing it when I don't look like such a mess. Bank Holiday Monday chills should not be photographed hahaha!
lots of love,
Ally

My very first blog post!

Wow. This is my first post as a Blogger, as I have finally gave in to the temptation after drooling over everyone's lovely fashion blogs for like EVER and I decided what the heck I want one of these bad boys. So here I am. Exciting times ahead. It would be lovely if you could follow my blog and help me out seeing as I am a newbie. Aw cuteness. So anyway, I'm just gonna post some randomness about my life and the things I love. So basically, clothes. Hahaha. Don't forget to follow and leave me comments on everything so that I feel loved.
